Journey not with life's embrace, across the shadowed lands of lore, for wreathed in darkness trots the trace, of fools' campaign throughout the moor.
Though the false unicorn might seem easily mistaken for an armored horse, it is neither a horse, nor is it wearing armor. Rather, its external armor-pieces are shell-like protrusions that function similarly to armor, and lending credence to the theory of its origin as a mage-made creature. It, however, shares neither behavioral nor dietary similarities to either the standard horse, or the unicorn from which it derives its name. Native to the Shadelands, this creature is a rare nocturnal sight, and is one of the very many reasons why travelers should endeavor to never be out of doors, once the sun sets in the Shadelands. The false unicorn is a pack hunter, and once it spots anything it deems to be a suitable target, it calls its herd down upon the victim with frightening speed. Between the harp hooves and horn, and the shockingly sharp whip-like tail, very few creatures exist that can survive a false unicorn's hunt.
Threat level: extremely high. Do not advise engaging. If targeted, seek any all measures of escape. Close quarters combat inadvisable under all circumstances.
